China Inflation Quickens to 10-Year-High 6.5 Percent

``This is pretty bad news,'' said Jim Walker, chief economist at CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets in Hong Kong. ``Inflation expectations have begun to rise and the government should do something significant like raising interest rates by 54 basis points to signal they're serious.''

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) De kinesiska Shanghai- och
Shenzehnindexen vände ned brant i slutet på handelsessionen i
Kina. Efter att ha pendlat kring nedgångar på 0,3 till 0,5
procent rasade de båda indexen ned under den sista timmens
handel.

Shanghaiindexet stängde 4,5 procent ned medan
Shenzehnindexet slutade 5,3 procent lägre.

På tisdagen presenterades viktig statistik som visade
att Kinas KPI ökade med 6,5 procent i augusti. Det är den
högsta inflationstakten sedan i december 1996. Analytiker hade
räknat med en inflationstakt på 5,9 procent, enligt Bloomberg
News.

Denna KPI-statistik presenterades dock redan klockan

STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Kinas centralbank höjde på fredagen
sin styrränta, den ettåriga yuanlåneräntan, med 27 punkter
till 7,29 procent (7,02).

Det rapporterar Bloomberg News.

Samtidigt höjs inlåningsräntan med 27 punkter, till 3,87
procent (3,60). Ränteförändringarna gäller från och med
onsdagen den 15 september.

Centralbanken uppgav att dessa åtgärder krävs för att

Problem not China's markets - it's China's model

While China's leadership recognizes the need to change the economic model, to slow the pace of growth and to distribute national wealth better, there remains pressure not to move too quickly, especially from interest groups, including members of the ruling Communist Party. Premier Wen stated in March: "For our socialism to go from being immature to mature, unperfected to perfected, and undeveloped to developed will take a very long time." But China may not have that much time.

If China does not make the changes needed in its model, the next time Shanghai is hit by a stock-market meltdown, the danger could well be that the ripples will go deep into the country's political economy. Such a development would certainly hold out the threat of what China's leadership fears the most - societal upheaval that ousts the old regime and ushers in another one of the Middle Kingdom's periodic bouts of chaos and warring kingdoms. And that would be in no one's interest.

China has a growing middle class that has few foreign investment options, and rising inflation had turned real interest rates negative, making equities and real estate very attractive to Chinese investors. The bubble may only be pricked if the Chinese government gives into foreign pressure regarding the pace of its FX reform, by sharply raising the value of its currency, or allowing it to float. One analyst says 'If the renminbi were freely floating, it would be three to five times higher,' which would certainly curb speculation.

föregående år.

Under perioden januari-augusti ökade KPI med 3,9 procent

Jag la ju in byte till Kina-fond i min PPM i fredags, men plockade faktiskt bort den igår. Kollade lite mer och fick en känsla av att det är en snabb och kraftig rekyl som startat nu. Visserligen försöker jag undvika att trada efter känslor, men i detta fallet tar jag det säkra före det osäkra och går hellre in när vi haft en lite större dipp än att köpa vid en potentiell topp.

China, Hong Kong drop in reaction to new bank rule
Markets give up gains as investors focus on impact of anti-inflation measures

Shanghai's Composite Index slipped 4.6% to 3,177.96 in the first day of trading since the People's Bank of China announced it would lift the ratio of reserves banks must set aside as deposits by 1 percentage point. The adjustment comes ahead of consumer price index data for May due out Thursday.

#79 Jag prickade både botten 2005 och toppen 2007 ;-) men trodde inte SSEC skulle rasa så här mycket. Nu ser det riktigt illa ut faktiskt. I princip är det 5 vågor ner från toppen vilket betyder att det ska bli ännu mycket mer ner även om det kan dröja ett tag. Slutsatsen är att förra årets topp var en "avslutande" topp. Det naturliga målet på nedsidan blir då runt 1000, dvs vid 2005 års botten.

Jag vaktar kinaindex och försöker hittar en ingång till kina fonder.  Jag har inte gått in ännu. Men igår såg ut som en riktig spik på botten, men idag index gick ner kraftigt, förstör den spik. index har inte nått sin botten än.

China Shanghai Composite veckor chart. MA200 ligger på 2414. Den bör studsa där och upp till MA50 igen. Nuvarande vågor 1,2,3,4 klart, och 5 landar på MA200 där.

Kina börsen är en mycket young börs, och privata investerarer har ca 60% och funden har 40% av börsen. Dessa 60% privata invensterarer har mindre erfarenheter, grupp psykologi fungerar tydligt på dem. Index kan punktera MA 200 lite till, t.ex. till 2400, sedan upp igen då hela gruppen skall tävla om vem som ligger inne mest. Ingen vill missa uppgången. Ja, typ.

kina 93 besin (den flesta kör denna 93) kostar 6.20 RMB (ca 5,44 SEK) per liter. Kina börsen index lever i storsta grader i sin egna världen. Men stora nerfall av usa index påverkar SSEC index, har jag märkt.

JA, kolla på SPX 500 veckor chart. Den där björn börsen har precis fick sin beskräftelse. Den låg under MA 89, och försökt studa upp, fick huvud på taket, sedan ner igen. Se bilden i detta inläget.

Om usa börsen skall ner, kan det påverka kina index. (se bilden i inläget 85). Då kanske MA500 är inte botten, utan en station för ABC upp till MA50 och 12345 ner igen till. Men det är mycket om index skall ABC upp från 2414 (MA200) till 4500 (MA50).

Bifogat finner ni veckor-chart på FXI, som har redan tydligt visa vägen. FXI först gick 12345 ner sedan abc upp, och "backtest" MA42 och ner igen.

HONG KONG (MarketWatch)-- Indian stocks and government bonds both declined sharply Friday after government data showed the nation's inflation rate rocketed to a 13-year high of 11.05% for the week ended June 7, up from 8.75% in the preceding week.

The inflation rate exceeded economists' expectations of 9.8%, and was the highest since the 11.1% seen in the week ended May 6, 1995. The inflation rate was also more than double the 4.3% seen in the corresponding week which ended in June a year earlier. India's Sensex index was down 3.6% at 12,234.54. The 2018 government bond fell to 97.41 rupees in the wake of the inflation data, down from 98.01 rupees before the release

China's stock market,  mer elände att vänta...

If you recall our comments last Friday, we said: "Some investors may be thinking that this is not 'our' problem. When the Shanghai drop finishes, a lot of wealth we be washed away and China will have to focus their funds on supporting their economy and financial structure. That means they will have a diminished interest in buying our Treasury Bonds ... and that will spell trouble for the U.S. Our government will have to raise the interest on the bonds to entice buying, and that will mean higher interest and mortgage rates for Americans. The other alternative isn't much better ... higher taxes."

``China is well positioned during the recession to boost infrastructure, modernize aging industrial assets and also invest in raw materials production abroad, including energy,'' said Ariel Cohen, a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation in Washington.

Lite otydligt om tidsperspektivet av det kinesiska stimulanspaketet i länken ovan. Det står i andra stycket att:

"The funds ... will be used by the end of 2010"

Det verkar lite sent för att få effekt på rådande recession.

Det kommer att bli ännu värre när kina sjunker ner nu... och vi skall inte glömma Indien...

För jag vet att många har förhopningar om att kina och indien kommer att begränsa den ekonomiska nedgången världen över, men man skall inte hoppas för mycket...

För det är en skedje som bara rullar på... Världen och speciellt Kina är beroede av usa konsumenter.. och denna gruppp redan börjat konsumera mindre så räkna att kina kommer att ha svårt att klara sig.

Undantaget att Kina börjar investera kraftigt för den Kinisiska medelklassen så att den når den medelklass som finns i europa och USA... Det kommer inte att ske på en dag...
