Det gick inte...tråkigt
Det blev en vild vecka som jag anade. the 20th anniversary of the Oct 19th 1987 crash satt sina spår men det inget att jämföra med.
SPX och djia föll med 4 %.
Comp 2,87 %
NDX 2,15 %
SOX föll 2,55 % 10 punkter från augusti botten.
Transport föll med 2,82 %
Rut föll med 5%
BKX föll med nästan 7 %, ett hårsmån från augusti botten.
TNX ner 6%
US Dollar ner 1%, bildat därmed en ny botten 77.41
VIX gick upp 29 %.
Volymerna var mycket högre. Och det är väl positivt om man följer Contrarian thinking men det krävs mer.
Kom ihåg att vi hade optionslösen i fredags som inte slutat som många hoppats på. Glöm inte att optionslösen under augusti och september slutat på plus eftersom Fed kom till räddningen med att sänka räntan och det är väl vad marknaden förväntar sig nu.
Att börsen föll kraftigt i fredags beror för det första med att en del företag vinstvarnat såsom Carterpillar " The worst U.S. housing recession in more than a decade will lead to a 12 percent decline in North American machinery and engine sales this year, Caterpillar said.
För det andra att bullish " Investors Intelligence " steg till 62% medan bearish föll mot 19.6%.
Viktigaste frågan vad händer näst?
En ny vecka som kommer att bli lika spännande och full av votalitet som föregående? Intressant nu är att nästan alla är överens att mer nedgång att vänta.
Frågan som ställs hur långt.? Jag märkte att många jagade botten och vi lär fortsätta jaga botten som kommer säkert att inträffa när majoritet gett upp tanken om botten.
Kommer vi att se en black måndag som en del skriver, kommer vi att besöka augustis low? SOX är redan där ?
Jag fortfarande tror på S&P 500 kommer att vända mot 1600 men jag varnar för en kraftigare nedgång om S&P 500 stänger under MA 200.
Nästa vecka kommer att bjuda på en del statistik " The economic calendar is fairly slow this week, with existing home sales and crude inventories kicking off Wednesday. Thursday remains steadily slow, featuring durable orders, initial claims, and September new home sales. Friday ends the week as slow-paced as it began, with the October Michigan Sentiment the lone report.

Wednesday will feature reports from Daimler AG (DAI), Merrill Lynch (MER), and the Nasdaq (NDAQ), amongst others. Things won't slow down Thursday, as Deckers Outdoor (DECK), Motorola (MOT), US Airways (LCC), and Baidu (BIDU) lead reporters. Friday slows down just a bit, with Countrywide Financial (CFC) and Tidewater (TDW) will headline earnings
news.

NEW YORK, Oct 12 (Reuters) - A weekly gauge of future U.S. economic growth was higher in the latest week due to lower interest rates and jobless claims, and its annualized growth rate rose to a six-week high, a research group said on Friday.
The Economic Cycle Research Institute, a New York-based independent forecasting group, said its Weekly Leading Index (WLI) edged up to 141.5 in the week ended Oct. 5 from 140.8 in the prior week, originally reported at 140.9. The upturn was offset in part by weaker money supply growth.
The annualized growth rate in the index was 1.0 percent, up from the prior week's 0.9 percent figure.
"Despite persistent recession fears, with WLI growth up to a six-week high it is increasingly unlikely that the economy will enter a recession any time soon," said Lakshman Achuthan, managing director at ECRI.

Halliburton Co. (HAL:Halliburton Company
HAL 38.85, -2.16, -5.3%) said Sunday its third-quarter profit rose to $727 million, or 79 cents a share, from $611 million, or 58 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue climbed to $3.93 billion from $3.39 billion a year ago. Results for the latest quarter received a favorable boost of $133 million, or 15 cents a share, from the recognition of U.S. foreign tax credits, and include a $21 million charge, or 2 cents a share, in after-tax charges related to environmental matters.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial estimated quarterly net income of 64 cents a share on revenue of $3.87 billion.

Greenspan: Current account 'not a huge problem'

The housing bubble wasn't the Fed's fault, Greenspan said. "Central banks have lost control of the markets," he said. The Fed raised short-term rates in 2004, but mortgage rates didn't respond, he said. Global forces kept long-term rates low, fueling the housing boom, he said. The same pattern was seen in other countries, such as the United Kingdom and Spain, he said.

En del tror på spx skall rasa mot 1300:-))
By the end of Friday's trading, more than 50,000 puts had traded on the SPX 1,300 put (SXY WT). This newly front-month position is more than 13% out of the money with four weeks of life. If options players believe they are hedging themselves against some sort of market crash, this type of speculation could continue into next week (and maybe the week after) and could create some headwinds for the market.

But a spokesman for PIMCO said Draghi was incorrect.

Financial markets have responded to the 50 basis-point rate-cut, by bidding up stock prices, as if this crisis were over. NEW YORK: APPLE TOG TÄTEN PÅ POSITIVA BÖRSER, DJIA +0,8%
STOCKHOLM (Direkt) De amerikanska börserna steg på
tisdagen. En rad positiva rapporter, bland annat från Apple,
bidrog på uppsidan.
Vid stängning var Dow Jones 0,8 procent upp på
noteringen 13.675,7. S&P 500 steg 0,9 procent till 1.519,6 och
Nasdaq Composite ökade 1,7 procent till 2.799,3.
Hårdvarubolagen ledde uppgången medan halvledarbolagen och
Wal-Mart vägde emot på nedsidan.
Apples aktie avancerade 6,8 procent. Bolaget levererade
en rapport som var betydligt bättre än analytikernas
förväntningar, efter New York-börsernas stängning på måndagen.
En rekordförsäljning av Macintoshdatorer och ökad efterfrågan
på iPod och iPhone fick vinsten att stiga 67 procent.
American Express, som också rapporterade över
förväntningarna efter stängning på måndagen, steg 3,1 procent.
Electroluxkonkurrenten Whirlpool tappade däremot 4,8
procent efter sin rapport. Resultatet tyngdes av signifikant
högre material- och oljerelaterade kostnader, lägre
efterfrågan i USA och en ogynnsam valuta.
AT&T, som också rapporterade, klättrade 2,1 procent.
Texas Instruments resultat var visserligen något bättre
än väntat och försäljningen kom in i linje med förväntningarna
men bolagets framtidsutsikter gjorde marknaden besviken.
Bolagets aktie fick sänkt rekommendation av UBS, till neutral
från tidigare köp. Aktien tappade 8,3 procent.
Oljejätten BP rapporterade 29 procent lägre vinst
jämfört med samma period i fjol, men slog förväntningarna.
Aktien steg 2,1 procent.
Wal-Mart tappade 2,9 procent sedan bolaget meddelat att
det kommer att göra mindre investeringar under 2007 jämfört
med tidigare prognos.
Amgen klättrade 2,9 procent sedan bolaget vunnit en
patentstrid mot Roche, angående sina blodbristpreparat.
Rapporterande Millicom var upp 21,3 procent.
Ericsson stängde 78 öre högre jämfört med stängningen i
Stockholm.
Den tioåriga amerikanska räntan var 0,1 punkt ned på 4,4
procent.

Därför är det viktigt nu att man inte blankar nu... eller man kan helt enkelt spekulera genom att köpa säljisar för att gardera sig mot en kraftig nedgång om man köpt...
STOCKHOLM (Direkt) Det globala finansiella systemet
riskerar ytterligare instabilitet på grund av de pågående
osäkerheterna beträffande kreditmarknadsförluster.
Det skriver Bank of England, BOE, i en rapport om
stabiliteten på finansmarknaderna, enligt Bloomberg News.
Enligt BOE är marknaderna nu mer mottagliga för ett
potentiellt fall på de globala börserna, en försvagning av
dollarn eller en krasch på den brittiska marknaden för
kommersiella fastigheter efter kollapsen på den amerikanska
subprime-marknaden.

Investmentbanken kan komma att skriva ned tillgångar med
