Paul Rotter: I try to liquidate my positions as soon as they start going against me.

At times, however, this is quite difficult. Because in doing this, I move the market further against me and other traders start to exploit the situation, which also speeds up the move.  

Paul Rotter: A few years, I could catch stops with a sell order in the bund futures. In a few seconds, I made 40 ticks on a few thousand contracts. Today, that type of trade is hardly possible due to the increased liquidity.
