Chart of the Day
The S&P 500 rally that began back in October 2002 has recently surged to new highs. So how does the current S&P 500 rally rank? To answer this question and to provide some perspective, all major S&P 500 rallies of the last 72 years are plotted on today's chart. So what does this chart show? Several things... Over the past century, the S&P 500 has begun a major rally 20 times or once every 3.6 years on average. Second, most major rallies (80%) resulted in a gain of less than 150% and lasted less than 800 trading days (3.2 years). With the S&P 500 up 52% as of its most recent high on November 12th, the current rally would be classified as moderate.

See you in aug -05...;-)

To create today?s chart, the S&P 500 was divided by the price of one ounce of gold. This results in what is referred to as the S&P 500 / gold ratio or the cost of the S&P 500 in ounces of gold. For example, it would currently take about 2.63 ounces of gold to "buy the S&P 500." This is considerably less that the 5.53 ounces of four years ago. When priced in gold, the stock market rally that began in October 2002 appears to be treading water; though it is currently trading in the lower half of its trading channel .

Intressant bild. Om man bortser från 300%-pluppen och sen gör en visuell medelvärdesberäkning så bör SP500 nå ATH i början på nästa år. Allt annat är sämre än medel.......
